There is money available but you need to know where it's at and what to ask for. Typical loan and grants programs Loans/Grants Programs Micro Loans and Non Repayable Grants Loans to finance a government contract. Business Builder Loan Program Provides a pathway for small businesses with higher credit risks to obtain bank financing. Loans can be used for working capital, inventory, equipment purchase or capital improvements. Development Partnership Programs Provides small loans, peer support and mentoring, business skills training, business counseling, credit building and networking opportunities to low income microentrepreneurs and the self-employed in low and moderate income neighborhoods. Services and loans are available to any micro entrepreneur. Business Stabilization grants of up to $10,000 are available to help small businesses remain stable and viable in the face of economic challenges, changes and crisis Grants of between $1,000 and $20,000 are available to current merchants in several forms, including Business Loan matches from accredited government programs and banks. Loan matches may not be used to pay off debts or existing loans or a loan to be obtained. Business Crisis Grant Emergency grants of between $1,000 and $20,000 to offset harm caused by nature or man are available to current merchants. Emergencies may be defined as, but not limited to: * Unexpected health crisis (such as stroke, heart attack or serious injury) * Loss of equipment necessary to conduct business (such as a stolen vehicle or broken refrigeration unit) * Damage to property serious enough to interrupt business operation (such as damage by flood or vandalism)

Government Credit Card Holders
A listing will expose your business to the 80,000 purchasing authorities and 700,000 employees with government credit cards who make small purchases between $2,000.00 and $25,000.00. Government credit cards are widely used and account for around 50% of all government buys.

Small No Bid Contracts
In an effort to increase efficiency, buyers were given the power to make simple purchases with a government-issued purchasing card (called an IMPAC card, but basically just a credit card). Purchases are made informally by telephone, fax, or email. These purchases can be made without competition. No Bid. Buyers make sure that prices are reasonable and purchases are distributed fairly among vendors.
